Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Editr ("we", "us") handles personal information when you use editr.in and our services. We follow Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What we collect

2. Why we use it
- To receive, edit and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.
- To take payments, manage monthly plans, send invoices and process refunds.
- To answer your questions and give support.
- To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.
We use your information only for these purposes. By submitting an order you consent to this use. You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, but we may then be unable to continue your order.
3. How AI is used with your files
We use AI tools to help edit your documents, and a person reviews the result before it is sent to you. To do this, the text of your files is sent to AI services for processing. We do not sell your files, and we do not use them to train AI models. We only send the AI providers below what is needed to complete your order.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Editr, and only as needed:

We may also disclose information if the law, a court or a government authority requires it. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
5. Where your data is stored
Our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed or stored on servers outside India. We choose providers with appropriate security practices, and we keep the information we send them to what is necessary.
6. How long we keep it
- Your files (uploaded files and our edited versions) are deleted automatically 90 days after upload. If you want them deleted sooner, email us and we will remove them.
- Order records (your name, email, service ordered, dates and payment references) are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, and are then deleted.
- Emails and messages are kept for as long as they are useful to handle your order or any follow-up, and then deleted.
7. Security
Our website uses HTTPS. Uploaded files are held in private storage that is not publicly accessible, and access to orders is restricted to authorised people through a protected admin area. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or update information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information (we may need to keep some records for legal and tax reasons);
- withdraw your consent;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or cannot act for yourself;
- make a complaint, first to us and, if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, email hello@editr.in from the address you used for your order. We normally respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies and tracking
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will use privacy-friendly measurement and update this policy first.
10. Children
Our services are for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell customers with active orders or plans by email.
12. Contact and grievances
For questions about this policy, to use your rights, or to raise a privacy complaint, contact our grievance contact at hello@editr.in. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 30 days.
