Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These terms apply to every order you place with Editr ("Editr", "we", "us") through editr.in. By submitting an order or ticking the agreement box on the upload page, you ("you", "the client") agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy.
1. What we do
Editr provides editing services for written content: resumes and LinkedIn profile copy, pitch decks, newsletters, and monthly content editing for brands. We edit and improve what you give us. We do not write documents from nothing, and we do not guarantee any particular outcome such as a job offer, interview, funding, or open rate. Examples on our website are illustrations of the kind of edit we do.
2. How we work, including use of AI
Our work is done with the help of AI tools, and every deliverable is reviewed by a person before it is sent to you. By placing an order you acknowledge this. The AI tools and other providers that may process your files are listed in our Privacy Policy.
3. Placing an order and delivery times
- You place an order by completing the form on our upload page and uploading the files we ask for.
- When we have received everything we need, we send a confirmation email with your reference number and delivery date. The delivery clock starts at that point.
- Turnaround times are counted in working days, Monday to Friday, Indian Standard Time. Weekends are not counted, and an order received on a weekend starts on the next working day. We do not currently exclude public holidays, but may tell you if one affects your order.
- If your files are incomplete, unreadable or need clarification, the clock pauses until you send what we need.
- Stated turnaround times (for example 24 or 48 working hours) are our commitment for a normal-sized order. For unusually large or complex files, we will tell you before we start.
- We deliver by email, as the file types described for each service (for example Word or PDF for resumes, PowerPoint for decks).
4. Prices and payment
- Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) on our website. If GST or other taxes apply, they will be shown before you pay.
- One-off services (resume, LinkedIn): payment in full before work begins.
- Pitch deck editing: 50% before work begins and the remaining 50% on delivery.
- Monthly services (newsletter editing, content retainer): paid monthly in advance, see section 5.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not see or store your card or bank details.
- We may change our prices for new orders at any time. For monthly plans, see section 5.
5. Monthly plans and automatic billing
- Newsletter editing and the content retainer are recurring monthly services charged in advance, one month at a time.
- When you subscribe, you authorise us (through Razorpay) to charge your card automatically every month for the plan price, on the same date each month, until you cancel. The first charge is taken when you subscribe.
- Before each charge, your bank or Razorpay will send you a pre-debit notification as required by Reserve Bank of India rules. You may be asked to approve the card authorisation with your bank.
- If a payment fails, we will tell you and may try again. If it still fails, we may pause the service until payment is received.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time by emailing hello@editr.in at least 48 hours before your next billing date. Cancellation stops future charges. You keep the service until the end of the month you have already paid for.
- No lock-in: there is no minimum term. Both monthly plans, including the content retainer, run month to month and you can cancel whenever you like using the steps above.
- Included volume: each plan includes the amount of work stated on our website (for example, four newsletter edits or up to eight pieces of content per month). Unused work does not carry over to the next month. A "piece" means one document of up to 1,000 words; longer documents count as more than one piece. Extra work beyond the plan will be quoted to you before we do it.
- We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before changing the price of an existing plan. You can cancel before the change takes effect.
6. Revisions
Every order includes one round of revisions, which you must request within 7 days of delivery. A revision means changes to the work we delivered, based on your original brief (for example adjusting tone, correcting something we misunderstood, or tightening a section). It does not cover a new or different brief, new source material, or a rewrite of the whole document.
7. What we need from you
- You confirm that you own the content you send us, or have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or break any law.
- Please do not send us content you are not allowed to share, and avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for the edit (for example government ID numbers or bank details).
- You are responsible for checking the final document before you use it. We edit wording, structure and clarity based on what you give us, and we flag points to check, but you are responsible for the accuracy of facts such as dates, job titles, qualifications, figures and claims.
8. Ownership of your content
Your content stays yours. Once you have paid for an order, you own the edited deliverables we produce for you. We will not publish your content or use it as an example or testimonial without your permission. We may keep a record of the order (not your content) for our accounts and to improve our service.
9. Confidentiality
We treat everything you send us as confidential. We only share it with the people and service providers who need it to deliver your order, as described in our Privacy Policy, and we do not disclose it for any other purpose except where the law requires.
10. Limits of our responsibility
- We provide the service with reasonable skill and care, but we do not guarantee that the result will achieve any particular outcome.
- To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost job opportunities, lost investment or lost profit.
- Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Indian consumer protection law that cannot be limited by contract.
11. Refunds
Our Refund Policy forms part of these terms.
12. Stopping or refusing service
We may decline or stop an order if it involves unlawful, abusive, misleading or infringing content, or if payment is not made. If we stop an order for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the amount you paid for the work not done.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. Changes apply to new orders. For monthly plans, we will notify you by email of material changes before they apply to you.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India with proper jurisdiction will handle any dispute that cannot be resolved by discussion. Please contact us first so we can try to fix the problem.
